eBay and Sanook! Launch Shopping.co.th
- A new e-Commerce Site in Thailand
Bangkok, December 13, 2007 – Sanook.com, Thailand#s no.1 online portal today launched www.shopping.co.th, a Thai-language e-commerce website that it has developed under a partnership with eBay, the world’s leading online marketplace. The new e-commerce site will enable individuals and businesses in Thailand to participate in local trade as well as cross border trade through eBay#s global web sites.
According to the global research from IDC, Thailand currently has more than 13 million Internet users and an e-commerce value of approximately US$1 billion.
The new Shopping.co.th site, which is managed and operated by Sanook Shopping Limited, a newly formed Sanook! subsidiary, will allow more online users in Thailand to participate in e-commerce within a safe, online trading environment. It is free to register, buy and sell on Shopping.co.th. Existing Sanook! Members can log in using their current Sanook! usernames to start trading on the new site.
Besides being able to trade with other users in Thailand, the new site also allows Thai entrepreneurs – from individual sellers to SMEs and OTOP vendors – to sell internationally and access over 240 million potential customers worldwide on the global eBay marketplace.
